TRIBULUS TERRESTRIS: Benefits, Side Effects, Uses, Dosage, Warnings?
Tribulus Terrestris - action, experiences, side effects

Include those known under the name Erdburzeldorn, butcher's broom or tricorn plants, as Tribulus Terrestris (or Tribosteron) known active compound.
From the naturopathic practice of René graves, medical practitioners and health educator

Chemically, it is a steroid-like compound (saponins), which are among the phytosterols. Saponins are also present in legumes. Studies have shown that, contrary to advertising Tribulus Terrestris is not a chemical precursor of testosterone.

Your medically proven benefit in men is the treatment of enlargement of the prostate, whereas it stimulates the follicles in women the ovaries. In Chinese medicine, the cure for stomach cramps and relieve the inflammation of the oral mucosa is used.

In sports nutrition Tribulus Terrestris is touted as a natural anabolic steroid with no side effects - unfortunately this information is preserved so in any way.

Correct the Tribulus Terrestris is the production of pituitary luteinizing hormone (LH; UCSH) stimulates. These hormones in turn stimulate the body's production of testosterone, and this leads to an increase in testosterone levels in the blood.

The conclusion would thus also simultaneously the muscle is stimulated so not quite right. The only similarity that have Tribulus Terrestris with anabolic steroids: both lead to a positive doping test.

Medically, there are no studies on the long-term effects of Tribulus Terrestris, neither in humans nor in animals. In animals, took a high dose of the plant as nourishment for long periods, symptoms of poisoning are described.

Some side effects are known, however, it may after ingestion to stomach problems or intestinal problems come, as well as sensitivity to light and also signs of jaundice .

The stimulation of testosterone production, however, has another side effect, it increases sperm production. The effect as power assistance (like Maca ) seems so secured.

The Tribulus Terrestris is often marketed as a dietary supplement in different forms, capsules are the most common form. The manufacturers offer it under the name we Testo Stack2, Tribulus Pro or Testalon for sale.

Studies on Tribbulus Terrestris

Earlier I wrote of studies. In the following I will mention two studies which I think is interesting:

The influence of the Tribulus terrestris extract on the parameters of the functional preparedness and athletes' organism homeostasis.

In this study the effect of Tribulus terrestris extract was tested for the homeostasis of organisms of athletes. For this purpose a commercially available dietary supplements (Tribulus, Optimum Nutrition, USA) was used. There was a positive effect at a daily dosage of 1 capsule 3 times for a period of 20 days on the physical strength of athletes in various energy producing zones: anaerobic muscle strength and anaerobic glycolytic potential showed a reliable, statistically significant increase. After 20 days of consumption of Tribulus terrestris had no significant effect was observed on erythrocytes, hemoglobin and platelet indices. During the experimental phase increased percentages in granulocytes and decreased percentage values in leukocytes showed a negative effect of this dietary supplement. Creatine kinase levels in the blood of athletes was significantly increased. The amount of creatinine, however, showed a tendency to decrease during the 20-day observation period in which the dietary supplement was taken. Decrease tendencies of urea, cholesterol and bilirubin was also observed. The concentrations of testosterone in the blood increased statistically significantly during the first 10 days of the observation period. During the second half, however, no further increases were observed.

My comment on this study: This "study" unfortunately does not have to as many athletes that was made. It would also be very helpful to know what type of athletes that was made. Chess is one indeed now sport and so would every chess player an athlete. But the physical conditions or differences for chess and weightlifting for example, are quick to understand for anyone. Therefore, the predictive value of this work remains relatively limited. What is interesting is that after a 10-day ingestion of Tribulus terrestris increases testosterone was observed. But as the authors assess owe, whether this increase was not only significant, but also by physiological or sport therapeutic interest. In addition, there are no statements about placebo-controlled comparison groups. Therefore you have to the authors simply believe that their observations were statistically significant. All in all: There are far better than these studies.Tribulus Terrestris - action, experiences, side effects
